Product Reliability Engineer

Job Title: Product Reliability Engineer

Reports to: Software Development Manager

Location: Europe


Compliance & Risks is looking for an experienced, gifted and passionate Product Reliability Engineer to join a diverse, globally located development team.

Key Responsibilities:

Reliability Engineering

  • Troubleshoot production issues
  • Identify root causes of reliability issues and suggest solutions
  • Design and implement exception reporting framework for early warning signals of system stresses

Performance Engineering

  • Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks
  • Identify and implement performance measurement strategies
  • Design and implement performance testing framework
  • Become an expert in C2P (our software platform) performance, helping us optimize from the application level all the way through the DB

Production Environment Support

  • Real time troubleshooting of production downtime events
  • Log monitoring and preventative maintenance
  • Build a process conducting post-incident reviews

Prior Experience and Qualifications:

  • Senior role – 10+ years experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent lifetime experience
  • Prior experience running critical production systems in a Linux / Unix environment
  • Deep expertise in Java Spring Hibernate stack
  • Comfortable with relational database concepts and SQL
  • JVM configuration, memory, heap monitoring
  • Systems integration across full stack including DB
  • AWS experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Tech stack similar to: Kibana, Docker, Logtash, Python, Unix, Shell scripting, SAML
  • A level of comfort working in production environments
  • Detail oriented (not a risk taker in production)
  • Load testing experience
  • Thrives on the challenge of getting to the bottom of an obscure stack trace
  • Software architecture design skills for maintaining High Availability and Fault Tolerance
  • Practical experience in managing and leading application reliability practices
  • An excellent collaborator, with a willingness to mentor others
