Speakers


Joanne O’ Donnell, Head of Global Compliance, Compliance & Risks
With 21 years of post-qualification experience, Joanne heads up the Global Regulatory Compliance team at Compliance and Risks. She has extensive national and international legal experience in private practice, in-house, and industry and has been with Compliance and Risks for over 12 years. She helps support its clients with their global legal compliance challenges with a particular interest and focus on Sustainability, ESG, Climate Change, Human Trafficking, and Slavery as well as Business and Human Rights.
Joanne has a Bachelor of Arts (Legal and French) and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland as well as a Masters in International Law (LLM) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. She also has a Masters Degree in French from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She recently completed a Masters course in Business and Human Rights at the University of Bergen, Norway. She qualified as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland in 2003.


Ani Nozadze, Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist & Team Lead, Compliance & Risks
Ani Nozadze is a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist with over 10 years of experience working in various legal positions.
Ani has a particular interest in personal data protection and has previously managed a department at the Georgian Data Protection Authority. She keeps clients up to date on global regulatory developments with a special focus on privacy. Ani obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law from Tbilisi State University and also holds a Master of Laws degree in International Business Law from Central European University.
Ani is a qualified lawyer in Georgia, and with her native Georgian language, she is fluent in English and has intermediate knowledge of Russian.


Sarah-Jane Dobson, Partner, Global Head of Product Liability, Safety and Compliance, Ashurst
Sarah-Jane is a partner in Ashurst. She is an international products lawyer, acting on regulatory, litigious, and policy matters across the full product life cycle in respect of product safety, compliance, and product liability issues.
Her practice is focused on multi-jurisdictional matters for corporate clients across a range of sectors, including consumer goods, cosmetics, chemicals, food and beverages, life sciences, industrial and regulatory compliance, and global product recalls.
Her product liability work includes managing large portfolios of international product liability claims, advising on product safety, inquests, public inquiries, judicial reviews, and anti-competitive practices and advertising. Her policy work has focused on assisting clients responding to legislative change, including Brexit, change of regimes (medical devices), and new legislation (collective redress and product sustainability. She has advised clients in respect of submissions to lawmakers regarding a proposed change.


Katrin Ruhl, Senior Associate, Ashurst
Katrin is a lawyer in Ashurst’s dispute resolution practice with extensive experience representing clients before state courts and in out-of-court proceedings, particularly in construction-related matters.
She advises national and international companies on complex product liability and product safety issues and has significant experience defending mass claims, especially in the life sciences and automotive sectors. Katrin has also supported clients in coordinating multi-jurisdictional litigation and developing comprehensive defence strategies.
Katrin studied law at the University of Augsburg and was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2017.
