Pravilnik 124/2023, adopted on 29 November 2023, amends Pravilnik 141/2016 on Radio Equipment in order to implement Directive (EU) 2022/2380 on a common charger for electronic devices.

Changes to Radio Equipment Pravilnik: Article 3 and New Article 3a

The following changes have been made to the Radio Equipment Pravilnik:

  • Article 3: Radio equipment shall interact with accessories other than charging devices for the categories or classes of radio equipment specified in Annex 1a. Radio equipment listed in Annex 1a must furthermore comply with the charging performance requirements set out in the Annex.
  • New Article 3a: Economic operators selling radio equipment must offer the equipment for purchase with or without a charger. A label attached to the packaging must indicate in a clearly visible and legible way if the product entails a charger.

Additional Amendments in Article 4

  • Article 4: The instructions accompanying the product must contain information on the charger and the compatibility of the charger. Where manufacturers make the product available to end-users, the instructions must furthermore contain a label specifying the information referred to in Part Four of Annex 1a. The label must be printed in the instructions and on the packaging. In cases where the product comes without packaging, the label shall be affixed to the radio equipment itself. Where this is not possible due to the size or nature of the product, the label may be printed as a separate document accompanying the product. In the case of distance sale, it must be ensured that the information is placed on the website close to the information on the price of the device.

Requirements for Importers and Distributors (Article 5 and Article 6)

  • Article 5: Importers shall ensure that radio equipment is accompanied by instructions and safety information in English and, where the radio equipment is sold to end-consumers, is labelled correctly.
  • Article 6: Distributors must ensure correct labelling of the product and placing of the information on their website.

Effective Date

The Pravilnik enters into force on 23 December 2023.
